Renegade Craft Fair – San Francisco

My girlfriends and I went to the Renegade Craft Fair which took place at the Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion in beautiful San Francisco.  It was a really cute DIY craft event which housed hundred of DIY professionals from all over the place.  My favorite find was the crayons shaped like little, fat kittens (pictured above).  They were so cute.  They also had candles shaped the same way too. 

The Renegade Craft Fair is supposedly the largest craft fair, and they hold their events in multiple locations throughout the States.

Yep, this is a cake.  Mixed, baked, frosted and all.  And yep, it's totally unbelievable, I must say.  However, the picture below will tell it all.  And I'd like to tell you more about the talented individual behind these cake masterpieces.  Her name's Laurie, a super cute artist and a self-employed cake designer, making custom cakes (among other things) from scratch. I absolutely love how she incorporates items all girls love  – designer purses and even the coveted light blue box from Tiffany, with a lovely white ribbon turned perfectly into a cute bow.

I stumbled upon these insanely cute cups, and I believe these lovely items need to be shared with the world.  This colorful bunch, called Hula Tumblers, are made of glass and have a rounded base so they wobble back and forth.  Wobbly glasses?  Then won’t they spill?  I guess not, as the blog I found them on describes them as a great conversation piece that dances across the table without spilling the liquids inside.  Must purchase immediately!

Solar Powered Cell Phone..and It’s Waterproof

Japan always gets the cool things.  This June, AU (KDDI) and Sharp helps Japan go even greener with an awesome, AWESOME solar powered and waterproof cell phone.  It appears that this fab device is embedded with a solar panel that recharges your phone with sunlight.  Just leave it out for 10 minutes for 1 minute of communication or 2 hrs on standby.  Very cool indeed.

Gadget Wars: World’s Thinnest Laptop – FIGHT!

World’s Thinnest Notebook: At 0.65” thin, Dell’s Adamo becomes a new rival to the Macbook Air which is .76” thick.  

The slender laptop named, Adamo, which means “to fall in love with” in Latin, comes with a not so slender price-tag of $1,999.00.  Not something you can fall in love with too easily.  And it’s actually 1 pound heavier than the Air.  However, the Adamo supposedly comes with an optional branded sleeve or tote bag from designer luggage and handbag label Tumi.  I love Tumi…. I guess it’s made for those who are willing to pay quite a bit more for luxury.  

Looking at the picture below, the Macbook Air still seems to be the more elegant of the two.

The Lenovo Netbook (you can drool)

Technology concepts make me crazy.   First of all, when I see a cell phone that looks absolutely stunning, I go on a crazy google search to see how much, where can I get, who designed it….only to be disappointed that it ceases to exist outside the screen.  And then the good crazy kicks in…because I know in this great day and age of technology, functionality and design are starting to go hand in hand.  So when I came across this concept netbook by Lenovo, I couldn’t help but feel doom and excitement once again.  Apparently, this concept pc is called the “Pocket Yoga”.  Oooooohhh, aaaahhhhhh.  It sports a super wide screen (kinda reminds you of the vaoi p series, no?) and the display is able to flip backwards to create a tiny, little tablet pc, indicating that it’s touch screen.  Awesome. Some say this will live and die as a concept, others are more hopeful… I am on the dreamy, hopeful side of the fence.

New Innovative, Disposable Watch…Wear it Where??

I absolutely LOVE watches and clocks.  From the delicate gold bracelet looking girly watch to the oversized flashy Tokyo watch, there is something about the faithful time keeping device that amuses me endlessly.  And when something like the Fingernail Watch surfaces, you can imagine just how excited I can get. 

This weird nail gadget is a creation by Timex and Core77, who have designed this little thingamajig to mold onto your fingernail and light up to display the time.  It is disposable, indicating that it won’t last very long (hmmm not sounding too great). 

Although the nail watch has won Timex's 2154 The Future of Time Competition, we only know that it sits translucent on your nail and will light up the time and date upon pressing…something.  I honestly don’t know.  Furthermore, we don’t know how securely it attaches itself to the fingernail, the price, nor do we know when it will come out in stores. 

But once out, will I purchase?  You betcha.

Purse Organizer for the Small Purse Lovers

Perfume? No, it’s Sparkling Liqueur

Pink Sparkling Liqueur?  Okay, where have I been, honestly?  I knew about Pink Vodka but I was kinda disgusted…I mean, it has caffeine in it.  And it’s…it’s not pink. 

Anyhow, when I stumbled upon Nuvo’s Pink Sparkling Liqueur, I just completely fell in love with the bottle.  Look how pretty it is!  I’m entirely for packaging and presentation, and this one’s definitely an A+ in my book.  Nuvo has been inspired by the fragrance industry (fairly obvious) and born in Paris. Mini Appliance Joy:  I love cool miniature gadgets.  The majority of the time, these items are completely useless, but I can’t help but get tickled pink whenever I come across dorky things like the super tiny laptop speakers or the mini sink shaped paperclip dish.

Asus Netbooks Rumored to Drop in Price and Size in 2009

Itty bitty computers have been the latest craze for quite some time now.  They are getting smaller and cheaper and it has just been rumored that Asus plans to roll out a smaller, shiny, new $200 Netbook in the first quarter of 2009.  And they’ll even come in multiple shades of pastels.  OMG is right. 

And what’s a netbook good for you say?!  Well the business traveling internet junkies will tell you that they are simply fabulous for surfing the web, excellent for emails, and a doll to carry around.  Portability, connectivity, and affordability all rolled into one super cute little rectangular package.  Now don’t you want one too?

Prada Phone II by LG

Prada Phone II by LG: I absolutely love it when artists, singers, designers, or actors collaborate.  Like when JT sang with Madonna or when Murakami joined hands with Louis Vuitton to make some awesome designer purses.  Sometimes collaborations can fail miserably but when successful, pure amazing-ness is born. 

Meet the brand, spanking new Prada Phone II by LG, a collaboration between the well known Italian fashonistas and Korean electronistas.  Although it appears nearly identical to the original Prada LG phone, it has definitely undergone a number of internal and external facelifts.

The PRADA LG II features a full touch Screen and has added a side sliding full qwerty keyboard.  The camera has been upgraded to 5.0 MP with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens.  Call and hang-up buttons have added on the face and the phone now has integrated 3G compatibility with video calling.  The phone will also provide Wi-Fi support and a full HTML browser. 

Available in Europe for now.  I’ll update you as soon as I find out the U.S. release date or any unlocked versions that can be used here as well.

My Passport™ Essential™ - Portable Hard Drives

I’m all about cute, pretty things that are extremely useful and techy.  This combination is almost deadly as I tend to make impulse buys just because the item is pink and has an LCD screen on it. 

This time, I actually have a little story (or some reason) behind this purchase. 

With everyone talking about the BIG Los Angeles earthquake, I wondered to myself what I would have in my emergency EQ kit.  First, there’s the MUSTS: (water, non-perishable food, good shoes, first aid kit, passport, birth certificate, etc.)
